NAARDEN, Friday

His work is very popular internationally and will be significantly paid for, especially when you consider that artist Joseph Klibansky only 27 years old. With a photographer like his father's path in hindsight not so surprising, but it took him his life of art.

"I did an economic study, until I found out that it was not for me." The Cape Town born autodidact Klibansky peppered his fluent Dutch with English words: "The 'digital arts such as Photoshop fascinated me even more. I make hundreds of photographs, snapshots actually more like tourists in a city. These are the basic elements of my work. "

That work looks like a kind of "cityscape", loosely translated: City shelf. The digital artist cut and paste excerpts from his photos to a whole that is familiar, the famous Times Square in New York for example. But nothing is what it seems. The futuristic look of a collage is a closer look rather nostalgic about - a ommedraai of around 180 degrees.

"And because those pictures on many times in all seasons are made, correct exposure also no sides," grins Klibansky. And this alienation, it is partly to do it. But then we are only at the base of a job. In 'High Flyers' for example, he projects butterflies and hummingbirds in a particularly large flow from left to right across the canvas. That he then worked entirely with fluorescent inks. "That always gives me a fluorescent pink" magic feeling ". And that hummingbirds are a symbol of city life. They must always keep flying, keep eating to keep power. To me that is a parallel with City Life in New York. "

The appearance of his paintings (100% cotton) is reinforced by the final treatment: first with a composite Dibond laminated layer is then poured clear resin. The whole makes a cheerful impression, the artist affirms the desperation and status: "I come from a harmonious, creative family. That always gave me a positive, optimistic feeling. It does not fit so black to me. And the best part is, people all over the world recognize that optimism. Perhaps as an antidote to the crisis, they want it left negative. "

That hope also by playing "Spacious City. "The slightly leaning buildings allow for the busy mess on earth, some astronauts that their dog exhaust the possibilities in the empty space." 'Asian Invasion' refers to the increasing role of Asia in world affairs, but without being negative. "I think it provides great that evolution. That things are not always the same will continue. "In 'Overgrown', his latest work shows that this also applies to Klibansky itself: there is a huge detail. "I had in 2007 when I first came into the open, can not yet make. I have become more technically knowledgeable. "

The work of Joseph Klibansky is shown in Rize Art Gallery, 37 Amsterdamsestraatweg in Naarden and Naarderstraat 10 in Laren. Info: www.rizeartgallery.com and www.josephklibansky.com

Youngest top artist of The Netherlands Joseph Klibansky designs cover for album #1 DJ of the world: Armin van Buuren

AMSTERDAM, Friday september 9th 2011 - After world famous artists as Andy Warhol (for Rolling Stones), Takashi Murakami (for Kanye West) and Damien Hirst (for Red Hot Chilli Peppers) now the young Dutch new media artist Joseph Klibansky (27) designed the cover for the new album of the #1 DJ of the world: Armin van Buuren.

Armin asked Joseph to design a unique artwork for chapter 5 of his famous album Universal Religion (UR).

‘The moment you listen to your voicemail and hear ‘hi it’s Armin van Buuren’ you definitely get an extra boost of energy through your body. Immediately I was extremely enthusiastic about this collaboration because I often listen to Armin’s music while creating my artworks. So I just knew we would have a great vibe together’, says Joseph

The cover clearly shows Klibansky’s signature ‘new urban wonderland’ style with positive dynamics, utopian cityscapes and with a nostalgic link to the future, however, all combined with the philosophy behind ‘Universal Religion’.
‘For me this was an exceptional project to be a part of, mainly because the past UR covers hint to the past and my work always hints to the future. And that’s why I also think it’s a progressive thought of Armin to ask me for this collaboration and above all to give me Carte Blanche’, says Joseph.

On the cover we see what looks like an astronaut with a futuristic knight armor, within his one hand holding up a pair of headphones and in the other hand a sword stuck into the ground. At first glance the setting of the artwork looks to be an utopian landscape with a castle in the background, but if you look closer it seems as if the whole scene could be in space.

‘The artwork symbolizes that this is a time for brotherhood and love instead of strife and conflict. Music brings people from different backgrounds together and let’s you forget differences and backgrounds for that moment’, says Joseph.

Next to the cover, a poster and a signed limited edition poster will be released. The cover itself is a close-up of a new artwork Klibansky will add to his famous new urban wonderland series.

‘Normally my art collectors enjoy my art in private and the great thing about this collaboration is that now my work can be seen by a worldwide audience of millions’, says Joseph.

Recently, Klibansky has been in the media a lot because of his world record in the modern and contemporary art auction at Sotheby's. Never before has an artist of his age had such a high auction result (€ 34.350, -).

Joseph Klibansky (27) was four years ago. Now hang his works around the world, he has the CD sleeve designed by Armin van Buuren and his work for a huge amount went under the hammer.

	Germaine: € 34.350 for a job receive!
Joseph: Yes, that was auctioned at Sotheby's.

Germaine: Why do people pay so much money?
Joseph: Because each piece is unique and there two months working in it. Each work has many layers, it contains photography, paint and glass a liquid process. That's a technique I developed myself. This creates a 3D effect and brightness. 99% saw working with plexiglass (think of David LaChapelle, ed) I thought 'what else can I do? "When I came out at the casting resin. Then I am really in a white coat in a laboratory.

Germaine: Do you have a patent?
Joseph: No, see it more as a secret recipe. I get quite a few questions from the art world what I do. But I keep to myself.

Germaine: How did you come from?
Joseph: My style appeals to many people, so that gives confidence. In the beginning I own money to invest. Then I rented a booth at an art fair and I went with the other galleries are.

Germaine: And if you roll it between?
Joseph: Yes, now I am at fairs in the U.S., Geneva, Mumbai, Dubai and I have chosen a gallery that suits me. I started to work around € 1500 and now cost some € 15,000 or more for the door.

Germaine: You've done Nooteboom. An artist with business acumen is a golden combination. Is that your power?
Joseph: Well, my strength is more communication. I watch a lot of knowledge to Discovery and suck like a sponge. That, combined with my genuine interest in others, provides a good and interesting communication.

Germaine: As an artist you are much alone. Loneliness is a theme in your life?
Joseph: I work with a team of 7 men. We organize exhibitions, receiving collectors, providing shipments. It is working frames. Everyone is very dedicated. So no, I'm not lonely.

Germaine: Do you work in this style?
Joseph: My style is what I call New Urban Wonderland. I keep it yet, but I'm working on two other styles. That only come on the market as the museum has quality.

	Germaine: Where do you hang?
Joseph: In the MET in New York, for example in central locations. I focus on the international summit in the art world and the reactions I see the potential of my work. Within five years it may be that I get 1 million for a job. The more money, how my work is spectacular.

Germaine: How do you see the future?
Joseph: I want my work to the highest level lifting, conquer the world. But firmly. Art must be exclusive, only retains its value. There should not Klibansky's example, it's Ferrari. What I'm thinking about is my work in limited edition poster to form, so that my work with students at home and hang.

	Germaine and mugs printed?
Joseph: No, no, no. No mugs. You see I never do.
