ARCADIS N.V. honors 125th anniversary with unique artwork by famous Dutch artist Joseph Klibansky (28)
AMSTERDAM - ARCADIS, one of the largest and in the top 10 of engineering companies of the world, celebrates it’s 125 years anniversary this year. Neil McArthur, CEO of ARCADIS, has, in honor of this special anniversary, commissioned the young Dutch top artist Joseph Klibansky to create a unique work of art. Klibansky is internationally known for his large-scale, utopian city portraits that are made up of hundreds of layers of photography enriched with acrylic paint and fluorescent inks.
"For me as an artist, it is a great honor to work with a company with a history like that of ARCADIS. I must say that especially the enthusiasm throughout the whole project was amazing. For years already I’m experimenting through my art with the merging of different world cultures to create a new dynamic and surreal "future" city.
The collaboration with ARCADIS is therefore very natural to me. They have given me complete freedom to create my own city which is composed of a huge diversity of major projects of ARCADIS. The special thing for me is that many of these iconic structures and important topics such as the integration of water and nature have always played a central role in my work, says Klibansky".
A small selection of the most important and iconic projects of ARCADIS that can be found in the Artwork are: The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the Louvre in Paris, Natural History Museum in Shanghai, CCTV Tower in Beijing, Macau Tower in China, Macau, ALDAR HQ in Abu Dhabi and the Wind Farm in the North Sea.
The unveiling of this artwork took place on Friday, January 11, 2013 at the head office of Arcadis in Amsterdam.
